SR9011 is a research drug developed by Dr. Thomas Burris at Scripps Research Institute in 2012. At the time, he was working to find a drug that could change someone’s circadian clock. Dr. Burris’ team found that the compound had metabolic effects, as obese mice using the compound lost weight.
SR9011 is a promising compound that is a better version of SR9009. While SR9009 offers many of the same benefits, SR9011 is becoming preferable due to its increased efficacy.
SR9011 is classified under the drug group REV-ERB agonists.
SR9011 enhances the way the Rev-ErbA protein works.
REV-ERB is a family of proteins that are found in skeletal muscle, liver, brain, and adipose tissue. REV-ERB proteins (REV-ERBα and REV-ERBβ) alter the BMAL1 gene, which is considered one of the main genes regulating circadian rhythm. These nuclear hormone receptors play an important role in lipid and glucose metabolism, and inflammatory responses.
SR 9011 has an effect on sleeping patterns and behavior (known as circadian pattern or rhythm). When tested in mice, it was found to impact the circadian pattern, which is expressed by clock genes located in the hypothalamus. This effect was also extended to metabolic genes found in the liver, skeletal muscle, and fat tissue, changing their circadian expression and causing them to use up more energy.
We and many other earth creatures have bodies that are driven by a circadian cycle that tracks the 24-hour cycle produced by the sun. It’s why we wake up and predictably go to sleep. This process is mediated by special genes in our bodies which successively turn on and off at given intervals to produce the circadian rhythm.
Two genes called CLOCK and BMAL1, when turned on, turn on other genes called PER and CRY. The reverse also takes place, leading to PER and CRY turning off. The process runs perpetually in this on-off manner.
SR 0011 is, described, as a REV-ERB agonist. That is because it involves two proteins called ERB and REV. This pair of proteins are what controls the circadian clock rhythm by turning off BMAL1.
However, in a further maze of complexity, these proteins are triggered by an iron compound called heme group, which is also found in your red blood cells.
REV-ERB proteins can be found in your liver, fat tissues, and muscles. When you take SR 9011, it has the effect of dramatically increasing REV-ERB action with the following results :
Liver – the REV-ERBs carried in this organ, which is the largest of the body, has the most tremendous effect on the body’s circadian rhythm. It deactivates glucose-producing genes and triggers on genes that are creating new fat cells.
Muscles – REV-ERB leads to the generation of new mitochondria, energy-producing parts of the cell. It also preserves old mitochondria, preventing them from being destroyed. These have the effect of accelerating fat burn by increasing the activity of mitochondria.
Fat cells – REV-ERB in these cells deactivates genes that create fat storage. This holds back the production of triglycerides.
Kill Cancer Cells :
Another study by the Salk Institute for Biological Studies has found that SR9011 turns on receptors to kill breast, colon, leukemia, melanoma, and brain cancer cells.
The activation of REV-ERB by SR9011 results in increased energy use and weight loss in mice. Using the compound caused both weight loss and fat mass loss, but also increased oxygen consumption. There was no change in food intake or respiration when taking SR9011.
SR9011 works by regulating certain protein functions, including lipids, glucose levels, and removes dead cells. Its main goal is to control the circadian rhythm by producing and stabilizing chemical levels.
Our bodies function by adhering to a 24-hour cycle called a circadian rhythm. This pattern is preserved using a loop mechanism that turns your genes off and on. For instance, when BMAL1 and CLOCK genes are switched on, this ends on PER and CRY. Afterward, BMAL1 and CLOCK are switched off, and also the method resets.
Mostly, Rev-ErbA proteins function to stabilize this inner clock by turning off BMAL1. In turn, these proteins are activated by means of a group of compounds belonging to the exact same group with Red blood cells.
When tested on animals, SR9011 had the following effects :

Increased Fat Burn :

SR9011 has poor levels of oral bioavailability due to the inherent nature of the compound.
Side Effects of SR9011 :
There have been no clinically identified long term side effects using SR9011 simply because not enough testing has been done. Some anecdotal evidence has pointed to a possible side effect of insomnia as it causes increased hyperactivity.
Users of SR9011 interviewed online did not report any serious side effects. Of a of total 24 people who reported using SR9011, 4 out of 24 people reported sleep side effects.
Anecdotal evidence indicates that 15 to 20 percent of the users mentioned insomnia as a possible side effect. However, this was controlled when the dose was reduced or after discontinuing use.
SR9011 Banned in Sports :
SR9011 is a banned substance among sports leagues and organizations. It is listed as a prohibited substance that can lead to disqualification and suspension in almost every sport, including the Olympics.
